Station adoption scheme on the Penistone Line (November 2010)
Penistone Line Partnership are beginning a project to develop volunteer activity on the Penistone Line at the stations between Stocksmoor and Chapeltown. LEADER funding will help to fund a volunteer co-ordinator, whose initial role will be to engage with existing interested volunteers and also to recruit additional volunteers. Local workshop events will be organized to develop current plans for the stations. The work which volunteers can undertake can range from environmental/landscape enhancement through to writing poetry to be displayed at the station.
