The East Peak Innovation Partnership was established in 2008 and links together three similar areas covering Penistone and District, North Sheffield and the parishes of Denby Dale and Kirkburton. The Partnership was established to deliver a LEADER bottom up, community led approach to rural development.
“Liaison entre actions de dévelopement de l’économie rurale”
LEADER stands for “Links between Actions of Rural Development”.
The LEADER approach recognises that rural communities are themselves best placed to identify their needs and, by working together, they can find innovative solutions to local issues and can achieve real and lasting changes. The work of the East Peak Innovation Partnership continues although the application process for LEADER grants closed in October 2012. Funding for existing projects will end in November 2013. Through 2014 we will be completing work on an evaluation of the East Peak LEADER Programme and planning a new Local Development Strategy (LDS) to cover the next period of Rural Development Programme funding up to 2020.
